Freedom!

Freedom for little Z at last! She is no longer bound to furniture or walls! For the last two months or so Zoey has been able to cruise around the house using anything she could find to hold her up. She could even take up to 10 steps or so unassisted IF she was coaxed into doing so. We decided not to consider it walking until she chooses to do it on her own. Well, in two days she has gone from a few steps by choice to walking in circles in the kitchen. It's like the switch was flipped and she discovered what she is capable of doing! Enjoy some footage from this month.

Quality not quantity...

In an effort to not bore you with our everyday life we try not to post too frequently. However, it has been a while so here are some fairly recent pictures. Zoey is so interested in the camera that it is getting more difficult to catch her in the act. As soon as she spots the camera she instantly becomes more interested in trying to get to it instead of doing whatever it was that we were trying to get the picture of.

Eryn and Zoey enjoying the foliage.

Zoey's first official runny nose. Check out those boogies!

Oh yeah, Z has discovered the Tupperware drawer!

Zoey currently enjoys being chased around the house. Here she is peeking around the corner to see if anyone was following her.

You gotta love the A.C. in the summer!

There is never a winner...

Early August myself and seven other teachers at the high school decided to grow mustaches for the first day of school. So, with school starting this week I'm officially embarrassed to leave home. The rest of the high school staff is quite amused. Some of the students have caught wind of what is going on and have stopped by my classroom to see the show...I should start charging.

I have come to the conclusion that there is never a winner in a mustache growing contest...however, everyone is a loser. Along with the rest of the guys in the contest I have decided that if you did not have the ability to grow a mustache prior to 1985 then you should never attempt to pull it off. Why is it that some guys can just pull it off...Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds and Mark Spitz? What do these guys have that I don't? Why is it that Eryn is glued to the TV during 1972 Olympic swimming highlights and reruns of Magnum PI but she can't even look at me right now? So it is with this that I salute all of the men that not only wear a mustache but wear it well. In case you haven't noticed, I am NOT one of those men.

Last days of summer...

School officially starts this week so we've just been hanging at home the last few days with the exception of heading to Grandma Barb's for the afternoon. We also go to see Aunt Christina and Cousin Brody.

Zoey and cousin Brody with a proud Grandma Barb.

Zoey reading Grandma a story.

Testing out the furniture at Grandma Barb's. This one feels juuuust right!

One second Zoey is pushing the clothes basket and the next second she is face down in the basket. I managed to get the camera before she climbed out but I'm betting the landing was not enough to put her in the hunt for a medal.

Zoey has been a really big help around the house lately. On this particular morning we had her cleaning the screen.
