Keepin' it cool!
While it has been smokin' hot (105+ degrees) in the valley we have been enjoying the week over in Sunriver with temperatures in the mid 90's. It has been pretty rough hanging out with family, going on runs along the Deschutes River, riding bikes, eating ice cream, playing at the park and swimming. Zoey has been eating up all the action but was especially disappointed that Uncle Mikey and Aunt Inna had to head back to Portland Wednesday. I'm sure she will manage with Me-Mo and Ta-Ta here to shower her with attention. Here are some pics from the first part of the week. More to follow.

Wedding Pictures...
One of Eryn's close friends was married this past weekend. It was a bit nerve wracking not knowing how with Zoey would react with Eryn in the wedding. Fortunately Zoey didn't see Eryn walk down the aisle and we were seated far enough toward the back that she couldn't see her standing in front. So, armed with Me-mo and some gold fish crackers Zoey did a great job sitting through her first wedding. It's always nice when there are other babies and kids that are making more noise anyway. The wedding was in a cool old church at a camp and the reception was outside. Zoey's favorite part of the whole thing was the dancing and getting fashion advice from Aunt Inna while I must admit that mine was the BBQ ribs. My one regret was that we didn't get a picture with the whole family but we did get everyone in one picture or another.

Queen of the Castle
I forgot that I had these pictures so I thought I'd post them. This is Zoey's new fort. This was her first day of exploring. We just got back from a wedding this past weekend and we're planning on doing some berry picking this weeks so stay tuned for some new pictures. If I'm not too lazy I'll try to put together another video this week before we head off to Sunriver for a week.

7 years...in a row!

Yup, believe it or not someone has been willing to spend 7 consecutive years with me. I am lucky to have such a great wife and even better she is a great mom...so Zoey tells me. This picture is obviously not from our wedding; it's actually from my sisters but it is one my favorites of the two of us. Thanks Eryn for everything you do and everything you are. I could not have asked for a better person to spend the rest of my years with. I love you!

Off to the lake...
Grandma Barb came down to visit today and we headed out to Dorena Lake. Less than 15 minutes from home, Dorena Lake has a great day use swimming area. The water close to shore can look a little murky due to the sandy bottom but the water is perfect for swimming. It was a great way to cool off in this 90 degree weather. Zoey had a great time in the water with Grandma! The video clip below has a bunch of other footage from the last couple of weeks as well.
The music is a little tribute to Michael Jackson. Zoey is a big fan of this song. It is ironic that on the same day Zoey and I took a little break from Frank Sinatra and other oldies to listen to some Michael Jackson we later found out that he had passed away. I think Michael Jackson is the first person Zoey has actually identified using both first and last names together. Is that weird?
