Blackberry picking!

We took a little walk tonight and stopped to do some blackberry picking. Zoey was a fan of blackberries as soon as the first one hit her tongue. It was a race to keep filling the bucket as Zoey was more interested in filling her mouth. She was quite pleased when she found some of her own to pick.

Sunday photo shoot...

Rather than just looking at the pictures on the camera today Zoey decided she wanted to ham it up for the camera a little. She would look at one picture and then say "New one!" Then she would run a few feet away, turn around, and make some sort of face for the camera. Of course then it was a mad dash to see how the picture turned out. She also decided to add a special touch with her little "hat."

Grandma came to visit!

Grandma came to babysit last weekend so Eryn and I could participate in a small local triathlon. Zoey and Grandma kept busy for the morning playing outside and reading books. The small tree in the first picture on the right side of my mom rode in a car with my Aunt and Uncle from Minnesota when it was just a couple inches tall. It then lived at my Mom's for a short while in a small pot where the dog pulled it out of the pot and drug it around the yard. It finally made it in the ground at our house about a year ago and now it is well over six feet tall.

Zoey's First Camping Trip!

We headed over to the coast last weekend to do some camping with the Bell family. Dylan (5) and Bailey (3) took care of Zoey like a little sister and were awesome playmates for the trip. Lots of sun and no wind at the beach made it perfect for swimming on the Oregon coast. On Saturday morning we also headed up to visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Zoey loved watching the seals swim by the windows under water. It was a perfect first camping experience for Zoey with great friends!

Sunriver

Here are a few highlights from our trip to Sunriver. You may recognize the music from an old movie about another family's vacation. Thanks Me-Mo and Ta-Ta for such a great week!

BREAKING NEWS!

This just in! At approximately 3:00pm on August 2nd (just under 22 months old) Zoey took her first poopie in her pottie! She was a bit more shocked than excited. We celebrated with a red popsicle! I typically try not bore people with text but I've decided to spare you the details with any type of picture with this one. By the way, how the heck am I supposed to get the turd out of the pottie now? Apparently the little ones don't flush.

The little things...

There is nothing like being around a child to help you appreciate the little things. After days of warm weather in Sunriver a thunder storm rolled in on Thursday night. We were out on the back deck as it started to rain and hail. While most of us headed for shelter under the umbrella and the eve of the house Zoey looked to the sky, opened her mouth and tried to catch as many rain drops as she could. The water started running off the umbrella and she stood underneath catching the water. The rain only lasted an hour but it was refreshing in many ways.
